What would be some reasons why brutus is a traitor and why he would be a patriot
Traitor: Brutus was Caesar’s good friend. Brutus betrays Caesar when he stabs him in the Senate. Later on in the play, Brutus sees the ghost of Caesar. It could be his imagination, or an evil spirit in the form of Caesar. Whatever the case, it is because of the guilt Brutus feels for betraying his friend. Patriot: Brutus felt the people in Rome and the country itself had more importance than Caesar, and that Caesar was killed for the greater good. He explains that while they must kill Caesar to save Rome from dictatorship, they must not kill Marc Antony as well, or they will appear to be cold blooded killers in the eyes of the people rather than defenders of the country. Also, Brutus says that he would die when he is needed to, if it meant to save Rome and the people of Rome. He kept is word, too. When Antony and Octavius find Brutus dead, they say he was a true, noble man.
