how do i solve 5x^2-10x by factoring in algebra 1

OpenStudy (hunus):

Well first, the coeffecients are multiples of 5 so we can factor 5 our 5(x^2-x) But we can factor x^2-x further x^2 - x = x*x -x both of these have a factor of x we can pull out 5*x(x-1)

OpenStudy (hunus):

oops 5*x(x-2)

OpenStudy (hunus):

5(x^2-x) should be 5(x^2-2x) because the coefficient of x is 10
