Use the rules of exponents to evaluate or simplify. Write without negative exponents. (-243)^3/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does it help to know that \(243=3^5\) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk .. thats what the question is and i dont get it soo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It does. First, note that the exponent has an odd root (the /5) so the - can be factored out. Then, note what satellite73 said. The 3/5 means take it to the third power and then find the fifth root (or do the reverse, which makes much more sense: take the fifth root, -3 in this case, and cube it)
