Like all rational root problems, you are being asked where this is = to 0.  And, like all rational root problems, the rasy method is to factor it and set each factor to 0.

I have no way of knowing what they do or do not know.  The idea of factor and solve for 0 may not have occurred to them.  In that case, my answer is all they need.  On the other hand, they may have other questions about the process.  Then they can ask for clarification.

Many people only need the tools pointed out to them because they can use those tools once they know what they are.  Other people need more.  I am not going to assume everyone needs every last detail spelled out for them. Instead, I put out the basics and wait for a reply.
