im not too sure that we have the same definition of "helping" you out in mind ....
part 1a is simple enough part 1b might take more finesse
x2 = −2x + 24 x2 + 2x = 24 x(x+2) = 24, hmmm, i know 4 and 6 are 2 apart so 4 is one solution
