The first one I would say is B If you write out the equations. x + y = 12 3x + 2y = 32 And just put it into matrix form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its between A or B for the second one. I wanna say B for it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's A. If you solve the equation like this x + y = 12 Subtract y on both sides. x = 12 - y 3x + 2y = 32 Substitute x into the second equation. 3(12 - y) + 2y = 32 Distribute. 36 - 3y +2y = 32 36 - y = 32 Subtract 36 -y = -4 so y = 4. So the choice with y = 4 is the answer.

So its A. thank you so much.(:

Yepp. No problem.

\[\left[\begin{matrix}1 & 1 \\ 3 & 2\end{matrix}\right]\ \left(\begin{matrix}x \\ y\end{matrix}\right)=\left(\begin{matrix}12 \\ 32\end{matrix}\right) \] x+y=12 3x+2y=32 2x+2y=24 subtract from above 3x+2y-2x-2y=32-24 x=8 8+y=12 y=12-8=4

35. \[\left(\begin{matrix}x \\ y\end{matrix}\right)=\left(\begin{matrix}8 \\ 4\end{matrix}\right)\] x=8 y=4
