A rectangular pyramid and a rectangular prism have bases of the same dimensions as shown below. The surface area of the rectangular pyramid is 131 square inches. The height of the rectangular prism is the same as the slant height of the pyramid. What is the surface area of the rectangular prism? 253 in2 280 in2 262 in2 293 in2
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!
are you here ?
how you calculi the surface area of a rectangular pyramid ?
1/2 × Perimeter × Side Length + Base Area right? @jhonyy9
yes but you need to calculi the slant height for you can using it to calculi the surface area of the reactangular prism
how are these opposite sides of this rectangulare pyramid ?
what would the slant height be?
this wann being the height of a side what is a triangle yes ?
there are two + two the same triangles what are there height equales yes ?
how you get area of a triangle ?
so base time height divide by 2
would it be 7x5/2? i'm not completely sure...
but because these triangles are the same heights than you can sign this height with x and using x you need rewriting area of these sides using for two triangles like base 7 and for two 5
ok, i think i got the answer.
so than you get 7*x/2 and 5*x/2 so because there are two sides the same so for you need multiplie by 2 than you get x= ?
2*7x/2 +2*5x/2 = ?
=7x+5x=12x but you know again that this surface area is equal 131 square inche yes ?
yes, okay, i had 12 but i wasn't sure. so what would the answer be out of the choices?
sorry but i dont know again you need calculi it do you wann cooperating on ?
okay, thanks..
so because you know that the surface area of this pyramid is equal 131 thanks what ?
so if the surface area is 131 how many will be the lateral area ?
i got 262 in2 as my answer.
how you have got it ?
