Can someone tell me about the Cuban Missile Crisis and how it affected the Cold War????

The Cuban Missile Crisis was when Russia wanted to drop a missile on the United States, We had John F. Kennedy as president at that time, and he said if they press that button we are pressing ours, we both had nuclear weapons, and it affected the cold war by making the tension even greater. It was a horrible
time in history.
