The lot of a building supply store is in the shape of a trapezoid as shown below. The broken line represents a fence used to divide the lot into two parts. What is the length to the nearest whole foot of the fence that divides the lot?

Okay...it looks like the dashed line is the hypotenuse of the right triangle on the end.

Here's where SOHCAHTOA comes in.

The "170" represents the "ADJacent side", and the remaining short side is the side OPPosite the angle.

You are given the adjacent, and CAH tells us that:
cos(35) = ADJ/HYP

Which also means that

HYP = ADJ/cos(35)
