Construct a quadrilateral which is not a parallelogram, in which a pair of opposite angles and a pair of opposite sides are equal.

OpenStudy (goformit100):

@nathan917 HELP PLease

OpenStudy (nathan917):

You trying to prove that the quadrilateral is a parallelogram? or no.

OpenStudy (goformit100):

ya ok

OpenStudy (goformit100):

What to do now ?

OpenStudy (nathan917):

sec.

OpenStudy (goformit100):

thank you Sir

OpenStudy (nathan917):

A quadrilateral is a parallelogram if one pair of opposite sides are equal and parallel Let ABCD be a quadrilateral in which AB||CD and AB=CD, where || means parallel to. Construct line AC and create triangles ABC and ADC. Now, in triangles ABC and ADC, AB=CD (given) AC = AC (common side) Angle BAC=Angle ACD (corresponding parts of corresponding triangles or CPCTC) Triangle ABC is congruent to triangle CDA by Side Angle Side Angle BCA =Angle DAC by CPCTC And since these are alternate angles, AD||BC. Thus in the quadrilateral ABCD, AB||CD and AD||BC. We conclude ABCD is a parallelogram. This look correct?

OpenStudy (nathan917):

@goformit100

OpenStudy (goformit100):

ok Thanks again

OpenStudy (goformit100):

Thank you @nathan917
