How did the American public react to the formation of the United Nations? by opposing U.S. membership on the grounds that it would cost the nation too much money by supporting U.S. membership more strongly than it had in the case of the League of Nations by turning against President Truman for failing to secure a U.S. veto over important U.N. decisions by worrying that the organization would become an instrument of communist expansion into the Western Hemisphere

I'm back sorry. The correct answer is D: People were scared, that's just it. People did not want to live in a communist controlled society, and even though they were with president Truman, they were still skeptical, it was hard for people to think that there would be a modern Joseph Stalin(A Russian dictator), but they all still followed. Lets just say that they liked their Westernized Society, the way that it was already.
