mRNA (messenger RNA with codons that comes from the nucleus) and tRNA (transfer RNA with anticodons) (with the help of ribosomes) produce protein (chain of amino acids). That's a simple overview, anyway. Anticodons line up with codons, tRNA basically drops off an amino acid for each codon...it's similar to translating a secret code. Each codon (a triplet of consecutive nucleotides) codes for an amino acid. A chain of amino acids make a protein.
