The area of a circle is:\[\pi \times r ^{2}\]A full circle has a circumference of 360 degrees. Your arc is 120 degrees, which is: 120/360 of the area of a circle. All you have to do is substitute for the "r" and take 120/360 of that, which is 1/3 of that.
