Can anyone help me revise my paper please?
Imagine being in summer break having fun and enjoying the sun and suddenly find out that school time is going to be extended. Instead of being outside enjoying nature, you will have to be in classroom learning. Not many children are going to be happy to hear this news. Adding more time to school may cause a tremendous change in society. If students do not like school there will be negative effects. But others see extending school as a positive way to give students more education. Academic pressure is something a student has to handle during all their education. No student should be given any more pressure than they already have. We should not require students to spend more time in school. Also if school time is extended there may come negative effects. For example, students may feel more stress toward school. For example, when I began college I felt I attended school less time than I did in high school and felt less stress towards school. According to Jackson a publisher from great schools, a website that gives students and parents advice about education, states that experts have concluded that homework is more difficult than before and standardized test stress students out. As the years have passed school has gotten more difficult than before and extending time will give students more work. If school time is extended students will feel much more stressed that they feel now. In some cases stress has led to depression in students. On a recent study from Stanford University, researchers have found that children from the ages seven through seventeen were treated from depression. If there are students appearing with depression as a result from education, it can get worse if school time is extended. If more time is added to school students will put too much stress on them selves and will lead to consequences. Indeed, if more school time to student’s education is added, it will lead to better preparation in students future education. For example, they will be prepared for higher education and for their future. According to an article in New York Times, it said that if more school time is added students will be encouraged to work for a degree and have better preparation (Rodriguez). If students spend more time at school they will have better preparation for the future. However, that is not certain, students will be prepared for their future. If students spend more hours in school it will not change their learning or studying habits. There will be no results or have the same results. On the other hand, students will have less time for sports, hobbies, if more time is added to school. For example, when I was in high school we would get out of school at three o'clock and I did not have much time to join a sport or take part in a school program because I had to go home to complete all my homework. Hobbies are an important part in a student’s life and they need to have fun and be productive. Also if school time is added, students will have more advantages with reducing learning loss. If more time is added students will have more time to study and focus on the material so they do not forget it soon. In reading fundamental a website to help low-income students have an education, say that international comparisons show that U.S. students spend less time in school than students from high-performing countries, such as Japan (Brown). To have successful results in reducing learning loss, students should spend more time in school. In contrast, it may lead to no results and is just unnecessary time. Learning loss is something many students face every new school year. For example, when I was in high school my science teacher would tutor us after school to not forget the subject, but as time passes we forget many things and extending time in school will not insure to reduce learning loss. Also, it is the student’s job to keep up with reviewing their studies and not the school`s job in extending school time. As well if more time is added to school, teachers will be more stressed and burnout. Teachers will be very stressed every day that they can be grumpy with students and harsher in grading. Teachers also have a life outside class and if more time is added to school they will have to spend more time in school. Also, they will have less time for grading and spending time with their loved ones. If teachers already have many years teaching this may lead to a change in their lives because the time they were used to teaching has changed. The economy is already in a debt and if more time is added to school, more money will have to be wasted. If more money is wasted will it be worth it, will students raise test scores, nothing of this will be certain. Wasting money will just affect our economy and have a bigger debt. The state will lead to a financial burden. If no improvement is shown, what will be the point of wasting more money in students if they do not improve their test scores or grades? Also, the state will have to pay teachers the extra time they work. Regarding cost calculations from Fox news, says that a ten percent increase in time will require six to seven percent increase in cost per student (Corbin). More money can be spent in each student, but if students may not give any effort in his or her studies or improve in any subjects. If no improvement is made there is no point of wasting more money on education Also, spending more time in school can lead to more dropouts. If students are spending too much time in school and not enough in their social life, they may get frustrated of it and drop out. For example, I knew many students that did not like school and were always complaining that school was too long, hard, and boring. So in the tenth and eleventh grade many decided to drop out due to excuses. This may be the case for many students; they get tired of school and decide to drop out. For example, in the National center for Education Statistics the drop out rates in California in 2010 were seven percent. If time is extended in school the percentage will increase. Disruptive behavior can be a consequence of adding more time to school. If students get frustrated this will lead to misbehaving and acting up in class. Students will begin to talk back to their teachers and the students will burn out the teachers. Students will be tired of being in school longer periods of time than they used to and will begin to misbehave. More school will lead to students not wanting to be in school and resulting in misbehavior with their teachers and other students. In order to keep disruptive behavior from students under control, school time should not be extended. Even more, tiredness in students will cause less overall learning because they will be spending more time in school. Students will be more tired every day and they will be too tired to learn the concepts. Also, it`s not good for a student to be required too much time in school, because they will be too tired and can lead to getting sick. According to Jackson, he says that if students get tired in school they will begin to lose concentration. Students will be able to pay attention, but being tired they will lose concentration and not learn much information. If students get tired of the long days in school it can lead to absences. If many students are absent there is just going to be money wasted and the student is not attending class. If more students are absent because of the extended time, there will be lack of learning. Extending time in school will give students an excuse to miss school because they will say it is too long and they are tired of school. With many absences of students, the information they learned when they attended class will be forgotten and they will not be ready for district exams and future classes. Extending time in school will just cause students to be absent on a daily basis and cease them from learning. Furthermore extending the time in school will not help children learn more or help the economy. School time should not be extended because students will not be happy and there will be no results or improvement in students. Extending time in school will bring negative effects in students lives for example, stress, tiredness, and others disadvantages. Students should be given time to have hobbies and participate in activities so they do not feel stressed about school. Everyone should look through a student’s perspective to know what interests and difficulties they have regarding school. Extending time in school will not help them improve in their studies or have them participate in more activities.
