Find the measure of angle X (pic below) I found the other x, but I don't know how to continue to find the angle X: 5x - 6 = 2x + 12 5x - 2x = 12 + 6 3x = 18 x = 6 5(6) - 6 = 24

the two triangles are similar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I only have the info you can see in the pic. So I'm not sure.

it's been too long since I took geometry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is this kind of problem called? I could probably get it if I could see an example problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or find the theorems or whatever involved

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea :( I'm staring at all the properties of congruent and similar triangles and everything else but can't figure it out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1368150443139:dw| I can't see how to figure this out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, this might be a similar problem. But I still can't figure it out :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's not really a similar problem, they give you arc measures and the center of the cirlcle. I think the problem doesn't give enough information. Ask your teacher.

Alrighty. Thanks for trying.
