Could someone tell me in short what these scientist contributed to the atomic theory? I've read through so many online pages already and can't find this exact information. De Mocritus Boyle Lavoisier Dalton Thomson Rutherford Bohr De Broglie
Dalton: Suggested that atoms can't be destroyed nor created and that they were unbreakable. Thomson: The plum pudding model: The idea that the atom was a large positive particle with electrons in a rotating ring... he discovered the electron as well. Rutherford: The planetary model: that proteins acted like a sun, and the electrons acted like planets orbiting the sun. Niels Bohr: The Bohr model: incorporated quantum theory into Rutherford's model Louis-Victor De Broglie: Suggested that subatomic particles can behave like waves especially the electron as he worked with.
Byole was working with gasses and can't see his contribution to atomic theory.
