Write the correct equation for each word equation . Sulfur dioxide and bromine and water react to form hydrogen bromide and sulfuric acid (H2SO4)

OpenStudy (jfraser):

turn those words into proper formulas sulfur dioxide: Bromine: water: hydrogen bromide: sulfuric acid: (given) H2SO4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like this : SO2 + Br + H2O ----> HBr + H2SO4

OpenStudy (jfraser):

almost. Bromine is a diatomic molecule, so it's Br2, not just Br. Your balancing will have to change, but it's close

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How about this ? SO2 + Br2 + 2 H2O = 2 HBr + H2SO4

OpenStudy (jfraser):

looks better, GJ

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it right ?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

yup, it's right
