Are all percussion instruments hit with sticks?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope... Cymbals are clashed together

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not with sticks, but every percussion instrument does have to have some type of hitting involved to create sound.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not necessarily. The glokenspiel, ratchet, slide whistle, maracas, and piano are all considered to be percussion instruments, but are not struck by anything to produce a sound. :)

@pacely.chitlen.98 A glockenspiel is hit with a mallet... which is a stick

@pacely.chitlen.98 the piano is struck with hammers inside the apparatus

OpenStudy (anonymous):
