If f(x) = x2 + 4, find f(6). 16 36 2 40 @Mertsj

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Is that : \[f(x)=x^2+4 ?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

40 lol. Just fill in 6 for x :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes @Mertsj

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whoops lol sorry to intrude :) maybe you could help me on my question mertsj :) thanks if you can.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's okay @ZysLify I just prefer to learn a step by step process. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand :)

OpenStudy (mertsj):

The f(6) means replace each x in the function f with a 6. Can you do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah. f(6) = 6^2 + 4

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Yes. Now evaluate that. What is 6^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

36. And 36 + 4 is 40.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Yes. so f(6)=40

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^_^ Thanks again.
