scientists are puzzled during an experiment to measure the size of protons. muon was used as the projecting particle and the size of proton was found to be smaller then that previously found in experiments using electrons. anyone has any ideas why this is happening??

Whats happening depends on the exact experiment, i.e. on the method used to deduce the size of the proton. Any details of this experiment.
