ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Why my inbox is flooding with old useless notification mails from last couple of hours

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ganeshie8 that happened to me also -_- and i was like what is this? why so many? But the weird thing was that those emails were not even that recent!

hartnn (hartnn):

you guys should thank God that you are not mods -_- imagine how many we would have got for all reports, warnings, suspensions....

OpenStudy (compassionate):

That's because your email is directly linked to your OpenStudy account. Mark emails from OpenStudy as spam, and they'll go into your spam folder. You can also disable notifications from OpenStudy. Though - I feel bad for @hartnn , as a mod, he's not allowed to disable notifications. Poor mods. :(

hartnn (hartnn):

lol

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

my sympathies too to mods lol ! your suggestions are irrelevent @Compassionate . the mails im getting are for very old responses as @some_someone mentioned. they're not recent - thats the only problem. I dont have problem with notification mails in general and I dont consider notification mails as spam. I opted for them with full awareness :| I have this bad habit of reading+saving every mail i get. i wanted to get a timely notification which will be useful to me. nobody wants notification years after the post gets updated.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Okay, I understand your question clearly. Something similar happens with Xbox Live, you'll get messages from weeks or even months ago and in alarming numbers. The thing is, sometimes notifications are put in a cache, and you won't receive them until later.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

oh ok.. so this seems like a natural phenomenon lol ! this is first time i noticed this crap so felt weird

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Yes - it happens to the best of us. Nothing we can do about it. However, if you will tell me your email service provider, I can assess your issue further.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

gmail what can we do ? is this problem from google side ?

thomaster (thomaster):

LOL i got 173 email notifications XD

OpenStudy (compassionate):

It can be becuuse of your internet connection or service provider, yes. Sometimes I get texts from a few days ago.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ganeshie8 YES! YES! i have gmail also! i bet its that!

thomaster (thomaster):

I use outlook so it's not gmail who causes this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

internet connection then?

sam (.sam.):

@hartnn I've just cleaned my inbox yesterday and then today this happened, lol

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Why'd you blur it out! :(
