A meteoroid strikes the earth directly on the equator. At the time it lands, it is traveling exactly vertical and downwards. Due to the impact, the time for earth to rotate once increase by 0.5 s, so the day is 0.5 s longer, undetectable to laypersons. After the impact, the people on earth ignore the extra half-second and life goes on as normal.

the people ignored this but there was a shell in the meteoroid which is now inside earth and the demon of time is asleep in there. one day, after 345years , he shall rise, his powers will be unmatched and he will threaten people with the clock of Galactus  where the time that he has given away to the people will be stored and he can take it away from all the people in the world, except the astronauts, and he shall rule the world and the life of all the people, and the 'then' life shall go on...
