What happens in the artificial transmutation of an element? Included an example.

OpenStudy (rogue):

In artificial transmutation, an element is transformed into another element by being shot by another element or particle. For example, if you shoot an alpha particle (Helium-4) at Nitrogen-14, you transform the nitrogen into an oxygen and get a hydrogen byproduct. \[_{7}^{14}N + _{2}^{4}He \rightarrow _{8}^{17}O + _{1}^{1}H\]
