\[f \left( x \right)=x+\frac{ c }{ x }\] \[f'\left( x \right)=1-\frac{ c }{ x ^{2} }\] f(x) has a critical point if f'(x)=0 \[1-\frac{ c }{ x ^{2} }=0\] \[x=pmc\] Also f(x) has a relative minima at x=3 \[c=9\] \[ f"(x)=\frac{ 2c }{ x ^{3} }\] at x=3, f"(x)=2c/27 >0 (because f(x) has relative minimum at x=3) c>0 c=9
