I don't know whether it is correct or not. I got this formula from yahoo answers. center of mass=(M1P1+M2P2)/(M1+M2) M=mass of the body and P=position of the body on any axis in this case, M1=1kg and M2=3kg let's consider P1=0 meter and P2= 8 meter \[(1\times0+3\times8)\div(1+3)\] i.e. \[\frac{ 24 }{ 4 }\] =6 Starting prom the 0 position(from 1kg), 6th is position B, Hence answer is B.
