How did the outbreak of World War II affect German Americans? It increased suspicion that German Americans were Nazi supporters. It prompted nearly all military-age German American men to enlist in the military. It resulted in the imprisoning of all Germans who did not sign a loyalty oath to the United States. It led many German Americans to migrate back to their homeland.
