Sure thing I will take screen shot of the next welcoming I do.
ok then thats good so far you are doing great also you should send them to the amby manager so they can also see you work :)
Ah yes I believe it is Ambassador@openstudy.com
im not sure i have their email if not im sure BostonBlue can give it to you:)
@JA1 it is : ambassadors@openstudy.com Have you filled the form of ambassadors? If not then follow this link : https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BD3GW7T
Some tips to you if you want to become a successful ambassador : i) Try to maintain discipline when needed in chats by filling report against the user , so that the spammers get the proper treatment very soon. ii) If you see a new user then try to engage him/her and try to know his choice, interests and if it suits the OS life style, encourage him/her to continue the journey in OS. iii) Explain the norms of the OS community , rules , terms and conditions if you think it is the right time to let him/her know about this all. Consult him/her to the following link : http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct and [unoffical guide to OpenStudy ] : http://prezi.com/fs3hqdpcopic/an-unofficial-guide-to-openstudy/ iv) Try to keep yourself simple and friendly. Ambassadors are friendly and helpful . Help the students nicely! v) Ambassadors though give feedback to the new features, the problems in the site etc. If you come to know about any fault / problem in OS , do let admins know about it. You can also refer to this link for more guidelines : http://blog.openstudy.com/2012/03/23/openstudys-ambassador-program/ And at last, you shall not do this all only for being an ambassador. Ambassadors are not different, they are just like you and other users. Only difference is that purple encircled A. Try to provide your best to the students and to OS by helping users. Guide the new users and don't forget this all, if you become an ambassador in coming batches :)
Yes I have filled it out and am awaiting response, and thank you very much for the tips some of them are new to me so i will keep a watch out for them. Also what do you mean by "Explain the norms of the OS community , rules , terms and conditions if you think it is the right time to let him/her know about this all." do you have to wait before you tell them this or can it all be outlined in an email, also this "If you see a new user then try to engage him/her and try to know his choice, interests and if it suits the OS life style, encourage him/her to continue the journey in OS." What interest exactly do I need to look for?
i) Explain the norms of the OS community , rules , terms and conditions if you think it is the right time to let him/her know about this all. I meant to say that , if you will start explaining the code of conduct, terms and conditions of OS to a new user without giving him time to set him up on this site, then this will make him afraid of ambassadors/mods/admins/users on this site. Just like, first you have to be friendly and then go little bit up and explain them about openstudy code of conduct ii) If you see a new user then try to engage him/her and try to know his choice, interests and if it suits the OS life style, encourage him/her to continue the journey in OS. Usually, new users on any site like someone to talk to them and they like if they get some good friends. If you ask for their hobbies, interests, then it will make them feel easy on the site and they will not be afraid to continue on this site. Some of the users don't get someone to talk to them and they think "this site is boring " , so they leave. And that's not we want, we want them to stay here and get the advantage of live studying.
I see, very interesting, I will have to keep all this in mind when confronting new users, the hardest by far is finding new users.
There are at least 5+ new users online ... You will not feel any pain in finding them :) :)
the email to send your links to support your application is ambimanagement@gmail.com
thanks for all the good advice you posted, @mathslover - it will be useful for new ambis and for those applying!
