OpenStudy (firejay5):

I need help on a Frog Dissection Lab Worksheet. Medal will be rewarded! :D Page 3 - 6. Here's the link: http://campuses.fortbendisd.com/campuses/documents/homework/homework_20120306_1641.pdf

OpenStudy (firejay5):

@sasogeek

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

have you read page 1 and 2?

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

if you read page 1 and 2, you should be able to answer the questions

OpenStudy (firejay5):

2. Human 3. Dorsal 4. Backbone 5. Amphibia

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

those are right

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

why did u delete those replies?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

List 4 tools we will need for the dissection: 1. Scissors 2. Scalpel/razor blade 3. dissecting probe 4. tweezers

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

why did you delete those replies?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

I am organizing freak, like to keep things organized

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

you need help and then u call me freak? seriously you want to get urself banned?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

no I called myself that notice I

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

ur sentence construction is bad then, what you should have said was "I am AN organizing freak..." but you shouldn't even be saying that in the first place, but anyway i'll cross check for you cos u just saved urself, one sec

OpenStudy (firejay5):

what did I do?

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

okay so u have the list, state what they do as well

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Internal Anatomy part is what I have the most difficult trouble with

OpenStudy (firejay5):

#4 is what I don't get?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

#1 Dorsal; Ventral

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

give me what you think the answers are, i'll tell you if you're right or not and help u then

OpenStudy (firejay5):

I thought they were esophagus and stomach

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

#1, Before cutting, the frog’s dorsal side should be facing down... (that means the backside of the frog should be facing down, turn the frog upside down) ...on the dissection pan, and the stomach area should be facing up. Then, you pin the arms and legs to the dissection pan. do you understand?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Oh I am sorry it's Ventral, my teacher added ventral to the list

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

do you know which part of the frog is the ventral side?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

the bottom of the frog

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Is #2 scissors and tweezers

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

so why would the bottom of the frog be facing down when you're going to dissect it? the bottom side is where the stomach is, and the stomach has to be facing up!

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Then what's #5 then

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

List 4 organs that are part of the digestive system?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

1. Small intestines 2. Large intestines 3. liver ? 4. esphogas ?

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

yeah

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

Esophagus*****

OpenStudy (firejay5):

is the list right

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

yeah the list is right, but u spelt esophagus wrong

OpenStudy (firejay5):

#3 pins

OpenStudy (firejay5):

right???

OpenStudy (firejay5):

What answers do ventral and epiglottis go to?

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

#1 is dorsal and ventral, stomach goes to number 5 to replace liver, liver is never a part of digestion

OpenStudy (firejay5):

what does epiglottis and liver go to

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

#4, epiglottis

OpenStudy (firejay5):

liver goes to #4 right?

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

i'm not sure but it's the only option left so by logical reasoning, that should be the answer

OpenStudy (firejay5):

What's number 6?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

The main function of the digestive system is to get the food and water the frog drinks/eat and it enters the stomach

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

#2 is tweezers and pins and #3 is scissors..... did u get that right?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

I have everything, but #6. Would my explanation of the digestive be good???

OpenStudy (firejay5):

system

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

what grade are you?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

10th surprisingly

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

not surprising, i just want to know the level of explanation to give you lol :)

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

the function of the digestive system is to break down the food the frog eats into simpler forms that it's body can absorb for energy

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

do you understand?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Yes, I do. 1.One advantage (or benefit) of dissecting a frog is that we are able to (COMPLETE THE SENTENCE). After, start on the respiratory system section labeled

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

when is it due?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Like tomorrow, but believe me I can do it. I just need to get started on each section a little bit and it'll help me what words I have left

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

it's 4am here and i'm really tired, try to finish it up, if i should continue i may make a lot of mistakes cos i'm losing concentration on all of this, i'll check back later today (tomorrow for you) if you were able to do it. take care... for now, i'm out :) i hope you're able to complete it
