PLEASE TEACH ME HOW TO DO IT! If on a scale drawing 5 inches represents 80 feet, then 3/4 inch would represent how many feet? 16 feet 12 feet 8 feet 4 feet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@UnkleRhaukus @hartnn help? show me how to do it!

hartnn (hartnn):

\(5 <-->8\) \(3/4 <-->x\) just cross-multiply or take the ratio. \(5 \times x=8 \times 3/4\)

hartnn (hartnn):

because when things are scaled, the ratio of new measurements to old measurement, remains the same.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's a proportion right?

hartnn (hartnn):

yes, and i meant 80, not 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answer 12 feet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol thanks!

hartnn (hartnn):

you got it \(\huge \checkmark\)
