Scatter plots are graphs of data points used to determine if there is a relationship between sets of data. These are relations that have meaning. Here is a table showing data about annual rainfall (x) and the weight of pumpkin ( y). Rainfall inches (x) 43 35 38 42 30 29 44 40 41 Pumpkin weight lbs (y) 204 195 198 200 190 190 206 202 200 1. Express this relation as a list of ordered pairs. 2. What is the domain? 3. What is the range? 4. Print out a piece of graph paper then graph the relation. Describe the relationship between annual rainfall and the weight

I need help graphing them out aswell?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the ordered pairs are (43, 204) (35, 195) (38, 198) (42, 200) (30, 190) (29, 190) (44, 206) (40, 202) (41, 200)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you for that :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

domain = first element of each ordered pair e.g 43 35 38 42 30 29 44 40 41 are the domain of each ordered pair

OpenStudy (anonymous):

range = second element of each ordered pair e.g 204 195 198 200 190 190 206 202 200 are the range of each ordered pair

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you! :) Do you know about the last one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i know i m trying to use matlab or mathimatica to plot the points cuz its a little difficult to plot it by hands

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much! You are so helpful! Do you know the relationship between annual rainfall and the weight of the pumpkins?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

form the graph we can see that there is no regularity. sometimes the the graph goes upward but sometimes downwards. so it is difficult to say that there is a specific relationship between the annual rainfall and the weight of the pumpkins

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thats good! Thanks again! :D

you are most welcome
