Angular Displacement graph. What is the period and frequency of the pendulum’s motion? Frequency: 2 cycles per second Period: 0.5s How many seconds out of phase with the displacements shown would graphs of the velocity and acceleration be? What is the acceleration due to gravity on the surface of the planet in m/s2? Determine the number of g-forces.

@zaphodplaysitsafe Could you help me with this one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is my frequency and period correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

graph looks irregular, but yes your period and frequency looks correct.

The premise is:An astronaut lands on an alien planet. He places a pendulum (L = 0.200 m) on the surface and sets it in simple harmonic motion, as shown in this graph. How would I calculate the gravitational acceleration?

@zaphodplaysitsafe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

T = 2*pi*(L/g)^1/2

I plugged the variables in and got g = 31.5827 m/s. This amounts to 3.22054 g's
