A certain piece of glass, when heated in an open flame to a temperature near its melting point, imparts a yellow color to the flame. Is this a law, fact or hypothesis? Helppppp me please!!!!!!

thomaster (thomaster):

Glass is sodium sillicate. The fact that the flame is yellow is an indication for sodium. So it's a fact.

Thanks , but how can you make the difference between them?

thomaster (thomaster):

Well a hypothesis is what you think will happen during an experiment. You probably know what a fact is. A law is a statement based on repeated experimental observations that expresses a fundamental principle of science.

thomaster (thomaster):

You could also see it as a hypothesis when you're doing an experiment on flame color when glass is heated or something. Probably some scientific laws (thermodynamica) will be involved too.

Oh ok , Thank You
