Help with finding area of kite?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would this be kind of like the base and height formula thing?

geerky42 (geerky42):

There are many ways to solve it. You can use area for triangle formula and find each triangle then add them all up or you can find area of new rectangle as seen above.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Finding the area of each triangle sounds easier, lol.

geerky42 (geerky42):

Rectangle look easier, but that's fine to me. You can do it, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 60

geerky42 (geerky42):

Explain. @PvtGunner

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do I use the same formula that I used in the last question? 1/2 * b * h? And just do that for each triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

geerky42 (geerky42):

Yeah then add them all up.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

60

geerky42 (geerky42):

You got it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is the answer i got

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, I got 60! Thanks guys!! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you give me a medal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

geerky42 (geerky42):

@PvtGunner *cough* \(\tiny\text{medal whore}\) *cough*
