What is the equation of the following graph? Answers: x2/25 + y2/9 = 1 x2/25 - y2/9 = 1 x2/9 - y2/25 = 1 x2/9 + y2/25 = 1

the general formula is: \[\frac{x ^2}{a^2} + \frac{y^2}{b^2} = 1\] where a is always greater than b, so if the term under y is larger then the y term comes first and the ellipse is elongated along the y-axis. If the term under x is larger then its elongated along the x-axis... let me know if you need more...

if you look at the graph you posted what are the farthest points to the left and right on the x-axis and the farthest points up and down on the y-axis?
