Does gravity have anything to do with inertia, like are they depend on each other?
Inertia is an object’s resistance to a change in its motion. This could involve a change of speed or direction. You may want to look up momentum. Think why it's harder to drag a heavy object than a light one although the gravity works downwards, towards the centre of the earth. Inertia is independent of gravity yet related to mass.
thx man, really helps :D
inertia and gravity are two entirely separate and independent property of mass.. which tells us we could measure mass of an object using either the inertia concept or the gravity concept.. so we came up with inertial mass and gravitational mass.. however Einstien proved that both masses have to be the same thing..
