What is the circumference of this circle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (amistre64):

there is a fundamental relationship between circumference and diameter\[\pi=\frac Cd\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 19.625 Isn't Circumfrence Pi*r^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And since it gives the diameter it is Pi*D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm confused, so is it D or C?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

Area is not Circumference ....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you might be confusing the elements of pi, r, and 2 \[\pi~r^2\not=\pi~2r\]

OpenStudy (amistre64):

since the diameter is twice the radius: 2r = d

OpenStudy (amistre64):

\[\pi=\frac Cd~\to~d\pi=C\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I pretty sure I am right. I just looked up the equation for circumference and it is Pi x Diamiter

OpenStudy (amistre64):

pi r^2 is not correct pi 2r = pi d is correct so your "correctness" depends on how we are to interpret your post :)
