Light from the sun reaches Earth in 8.3 minutes. In how many minutes does light from the sun reach mars? 12.62 13.34 15.85 16.60

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to know the distance from Earth to mars first and then use Distance over time to get the speed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea how to do that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It doesn't give you any more information?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Theres like a graph with planets on it. I'd rather not think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

... attatch it here please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's vital info

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol sorry Wrong one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, so you know the difference between Mars and Earth is .52 AU right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I guess I do now lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And you know that it took 8.3 minutes to go from sun to earth. So now you have to add in the extra .52 because it's more distance so it will take more time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So now you divide 8.3 by .52 and then you get your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okaayy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what did you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15. (hella numbers)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

... yes. essentially

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you for your help lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup
