Help! Medal as prize, easy! Simplify the following expression. 4x - 3 + 2(x - 5) Please try to show as many steps as possible! Medal will be given to best response :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First I think you use distributive property to get 4x - 3 + 2x - 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6x-13 by eye ball.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then combine like terms, 6x - 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nobody helps for medals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x-3+2x-10 (distribution property) 6x-13

OpenStudy (christos):

multiply 2 with x and 2 with -5 as a first step...

OpenStudy (christos):

then add 4x with 2x = 6x and add -3 with - 10 = -13 as a final step and you are done..
