First, distribute
2a + 8b - 10 - 6a + 30 - 12b

Second, add like terms
-4a - 4b + 20

2a + 8b - 10 - 6a - 30 + 12b
2a - 6a + 8b + 12b - 10 - 30
-4a + 20b - 40
