How did Hoover and Roosevelt differ in their response to the Great Depression?

Hoover was a conservative, who did very little in way of reforms because he believed that the economy would eventually fix itself, while Roosevelt, a liberal, created his "alphabet soup" legislature that opened up many new programs to help combat the Depression.
