School.
Hello, We have been experiencing a recent influx in the number of academic integrity violations involving a web site called “Open Study”. Open Study is a website we have tremendous concerns about from an academic integrity standpoint. Although they present themselves as a tutoring site, students often are not actually assisted and are instead simply sharing answers with one another. Our FLVS policy states that it is an integrity violation to veer away from FLVS curriculum and content and to visit web sources in an attempt to gain answers for assessments. You are not permitted to use Open Study, or any other web source outside of the FLVS Curriculum and Content, as a resource tool for your coursework. Use of Open Study is considered an integrity violation and result will result in zeros being issued, proctored exams being required, and possible removal/expulsion from FLVS being mandated. Posting our content questions to Open Study or any other site is a copyright violation and will result in investigation and legal action from Florida Virtual School. Please remember the staff here at FLVS is dedicated to ensuring your success in your courses. Open communications with your instructors and use of the provided FLVS resources are your key to successful completion of your courses. If you need more information regarding academic integrity, you can visit the FLVS library or access the Academic Integrity link under course information. Thank you,
screw that lol.
whats FLVS?
Online School.
ah! I see.
that problem again?
?
they were having this problem way back
Same school?
Wow.
@MattGibson We apologise if it is so. But we are regularly checking whether direct answers are given or not. If there are, then the mods are taking suitable action against the users who are answering questions without any help but just direct answers. Also, if any students bags for direct answers and doesnt' focus on getting suitable help that we offer, then the question is not answered by us. We try to follow the OS Code-of-conduct as well request the users to follow the same. At a time, many questions are posted and it is very difficult for the mods to check each and every question whether it is alright or not. But OS is appointing more moderators now. And thus, we hope this issue will soon stop now.
Openstudy offers each and every child to fulfil his/her right of 'education' . And, if we make restrictions that XYZ School students ARE NOT allowed to come on Openstudy and get live help, then of course this will not be fine. What OS users /mods/ambies can do is just check whether the asker has tried it first or not, and then proceed. We are not capable to check whether the question is taken from FLVS or from any other online school. The main thing that is needed at present is the support from the FLVS students and they understand the code of conduct of OS as well as that of their respective school.
