Is this right? Nicole is taking some friends on a picnic. they'll need to follow a path to get to the picnic spot. A map of the path is based on a scale of 1:10,000 in cm. If the path is 12 cm on the map, how many Kilometers is the actual path?

No Use the conversion factor 1 map cm = 10,000 actual cm so 12 map cm * 1000 actual cm/1 map cm Map cm units cancel and we are left with 120,000 actual cm There are 100 cm in one meter and 1000 meters in 1 km Does that help?
