Ok if you're looking fot the intercepts, what you do is set either x or y to zero

for instance...
5(0)-4y=14

now solve for y

you should get y=-3.5

now do 5x-4(0)=14

@mmalcomson x=2.8 so the intercepts would be (2.8,0) and (0,-3.5)....do you understand?
