plsee solve this

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

by walking 5 forward , 3 back each time ... you are netting 2 meters forward each time it takes 16 sec to net 2 meters forward do this 14 times .....net 28 meters in 224 sec he will then go 5 forward and reach other side ....add 10 sec total time = 234 sec total steps = 117 (assuming 1 step = 1 meter)

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

ok how?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

the question never defines steps? just meters and sec

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

5 forward + 3 back = 8 total meters times 2 sec = 16 sec

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

i guess they mean 1 step is 1 completion of pattern of 5 m forward, 3m back he completes 14 steps, then on 15 step he reaches other side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how u can write he has taken 14 times to cross road

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

?? he repeats the same pattern 14 times to get to 28 meters across the road

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

time = distance/speed speed = 1/2 m/s --> time = 8/(1/2) = 8*2 = 16

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

yes

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

he repeats the same pattern 14 times to get to 28 meters across the road

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

i dont know how to explain it any other way... his goal is to get to other side but he has to walk in a way to go 5 forward , 3 back , 5 forward, 3 back ... and so on

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

...16*14
