how do you do this problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a)find a number x for which \[\sin^{-1} \left( sinx) \right)neqx\] b) find the largest interval \[\left[ a,b \right]\],\[\sin^{-1} \left( \sin^{} \right)=x\]

i have the answer but i have no idea how to do it

btw the top equation where it says neq..it is actually supposed to say not equal to x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If x is outside of the usual domain of arcsin, you will not get x as your answer for part (i). Part (ii) is just asking the domain of arcsin in a very sneaky way. To get neq to work, try placing a backslash to the left of it and a space to its right: a\neq b becomes \[a\neq b\]when placed in the brackets which trigger LaTeX on this site.

so would the first one be something like this by puting x outside? |dw:1368605515355:dw|
