If a 40 kg girl and a 400 kg wrestler each dropped from 1 m above the trampoline, find the final position of each athlete. Assume the trampoline is a simple spring obeying Hooke's law with a k value of 12 000 N/m. I started it with thinking Eg = Eg + Ee which is mgh=mgh+1/2kx^2 but then you have 2 variables unknown : the x and the h. If someone could just get me going in the right direction i should be fine from then on.
