Use the factor theorem to determine wether x+1 is a factor of: P(x)=x^5+x^4+x^3+x^2+x+1

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

P(-1) will be = zero if x+ 1 is a factor

sorry im very slow w. all this can u explain please?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

ok P(-1) means the value of P(x) when x = -1 so plug in -1 instead of x in the expression calculate (-1)^5 + (-1)^4 etc and see if you get 0

ok lemme see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got zero!
