Are children under the age of 4 more likely to be victims of accidental poisining?

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Yes.

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

Yes it is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes Most definitely!

According to a 2008 study, the 10 foods that pose the highest choking hazards for young children are hot dogs, peanuts, carrots, boned chicken, candy, meat, popcorn, fish with bones, sunflower seeds and apples. So YES!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Chocking hazards from the foods mentioned above cannot be classified as accidental poisoning although these can also be fatal. But it is true that accidental poisoning risks are highest in children below the age of 4. At this age, they won't know which is good or bad and want to taste everything that they can lay their hands on.
