what does it mean when scientists say that living organisms share a universal genetic code?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All living organisms have the same translation wheel from genes to proteins. A gene from an octopus, if put in a human cell, would produce the same protein as a gene from a human put in the octopus. We all have the same language in our genes- there is no other known translation than the codon wheel we already have discovered.
