A student strained her knee in an intramural volleyball game, and her doctor has prescribed an antiinflammatory drug to reduce the swelling. She is to take two 220mg tablets every 8 hours for 10 days. Her kidneys eliminate 60% of this drug from her body every 8 hours. Assume she faithfully takes the correct dosage at the prescribed regular intervals. Write an equation to model the dose of medicine.

Pleaseeee help! ;___;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...I just realized why you need help....I'm gonna need to find you a true professional math person...O_O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathlover Maybe you can help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@SnuggieLad Do you think you can help with @Aki-chan 's question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathslover want to help with this question? It's kind of out of my league

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm assuming a log growth function is needed, but I'm not sure

OpenStudy (primeralph):

I got multiple equations..........do you want one for the amount of whatever left in her or just the 'dose'? Or do you have another definition for dose?

OpenStudy (primeralph):

@Aki-chan that is one of the equations I derived..........

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The amount in her

OpenStudy (primeralph):

gimme a minute, I just woke up.........

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol it's fine

OpenStudy (primeralph):

@smokeydabear don't just stand there; operate.............

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, haha I'm bad with logarithmic stuff =P

OpenStudy (primeralph):

why don't we be more realistic and say that she doesn't take the medicine faithfully?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And she gets an overdose and dies immediately.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or let's assume she does maybe? I wish the problem was that easy :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I wouldn't mind her dying, it would make my life a little bit easier

OpenStudy (primeralph):

coldhearted people.

OpenStudy (primeralph):

..well you know how math goes, they'll probably tell us to find how long it takes her body to decay...........

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@smokeydabear I think she's gotta live

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol probably

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@primeralph Genius, should have seen that one coming

OpenStudy (primeralph):

okay, got it. It's compounding........ @smokeydabear who's Genius?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your comments on decaying bodies =P But honestly I am not good with logarithms...

OpenStudy (primeralph):

oh, I'm the Genius? I feel so flattered...I'm jumping about right now.....my face is all red.....even though I'm black...........

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Once again, you are a comedian ^^

OpenStudy (primeralph):

@Aki-chan pardon me for..flirting..(-_-).which one are you better at? differentials or regression/sequences ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-_-' it's all right. The class is Pre-Calc and the unit's Logarithms/exponential functions so I feel like either of those might be need.

OpenStudy (primeralph):

.......well, this is the differential equation setup..........

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am almost sure it is a logarithmic equation, if that's what you wanted to know. I just suck at setting them up.

OpenStudy (primeralph):

I really don't know how they expect you to know that in precalc.....................

OpenStudy (primeralph):

@Aki-chan I can't find a way to make it easier than calculus..........I'm sorry....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know how they expect that either D:

OpenStudy (primeralph):

hold on..........

OpenStudy (primeralph):

Imma explain it
